OUR HISTORY
1964
At DTS, we have a deep-rooted heritage in New Zealand’s Agribusiness and Engineering sectors, tracing our origins back to the ingenious invention of the milk meter by Waikato dairy farmer John Hartstone. This groundbreaking innovation led to the establishment of the Tru-Test Group in 1964.
2013
In 2013 Tru-Test acquired a dedicated tank manufacturing facility located in Normanby, Taranaki. The Normanby facility has a long pedigree of manufacturing a wide range of tanks for over 45 years under various owners. This strategic acquisition bolstered Tru-Test's capabilities in fabricating dairy farm holding tanks for milk.
2018
However, it was in 2018 that a significant breakthrough was made by separating DTS from the Tru-Test group, establishing DTS as an independent New Zealand Limited Company. This pivotal decision granted autonomy to our engineering division, specialising in dairy tanks, precooling and dairy refrigeration, and dairy automation.
2023
Our goal is to establish ourselves as the preferred choice for all producers in New Zealand.
