Waikato Area Sales Manager - Dave Gray
As a qualified refrigeration engineer, Dave has more than 40 years’ experience servicing and selling refrigeration units. That experience includes nearly 30 years as a refrigeration service engineer in the dairy industry. So there isn’t much Dave doesn’t know about farmers’ refrigeration needs – or where to catch snapper in the Hauraki Gulf which is where you will find him on his days off!
Taranaki Area Sales Manager - Ben Lagan
Our Taranaki Area Sales Manager knows his turf well having been born and bred in the region. Ben joined DTS with 12 years’ sales experience and is based in our Normanby FHT manufacturing plant.
When Ben’s not on the road delivering quality products and services to Taranaki dairy farmers, he enjoys a beer with mates, following horse racing, a bit of fishing and (in his own works) “chasing a stupid white ball around very poorly on the golf course”!
Lower North Island Area Sales Manager - Aaron Evans
Born and raised in rural Manawatu, Aaron started working part time on local dairy farms until leaving school. Aaron then headed off to his local polytechnic where he studied engineering and C.A.D drawing. Following his graduation, Aaron has had more than 20 years’ experience as a refrigeration engineer – 12 of those with DTS which he enjoys as it combines both his love of farming and his skills in the refrigeration trade into one. Aaron also enjoys living on the life style property he shares with his partner and three children - two boys age 6 and 12 and daughter aged 16 . Outside of looking after our dairy customers, you’ll fine Aaron still outdoors on his motor cross bike, snow skiing , fishing and spending time with family.
Northland Area Sales Manager - Arthur Harrison
Born in the North – Married to Gaylene, they have three children and two grandchildren and currently live in the Kerikeri area.
Enjoys travel, bike riding, tramping and running. Family life.
I have spent my life working with or on a dairy farm – born and raised on a dairy farm.
After leaving school worked in the dairy co store (now Farm Source) spent 20 years working for them managing three stores.
In 1985 started working for a now DTSowned company selling Electric Fencing, Scales, EID equipment, Gates and still with them now – 2012 spent four years in the UK working for DTS.
So plenty of sales experience and lots to do with the dairy industry.
Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau Area Sales Manager - Steve Taylor
Steve comes to DTS with extensive refrigeration and dairy industry experience including working in milking sheds as an installer and tester of dairy shed equipment for more than 10 years.
A qualified electrician, Steve also has more than 10 years’ experience in providing electrical and refrigeration services.
Based in Taupo with his wife and three children, Steve has been active serving his community as a volunteer St Johns’ ambulance officer and trainer of new St Johns’ inductees.
Outside of his working and St John’s roles, Steve loves to go fishing whenever he can, and if he can’t get to the sea or a river, you’ll find him enjoying watching motor sport!
Westland & Tasman Area Sales Manager - Jamie Boswell
Our man Jamie on the West Coast is a qualified refrigeration engineer with more than 24 years’ experience helping customers with their refrigeration needs on and off the farm. For the last 14 years we’ve been privileged to having Jamie on the DTS sales force looking after the unique needs of dairy farmers on the Coast.

Senior Leadership Team
CEO - Gavin Thwaites
Gavin has spent the previous 30 years working in various roles in New Zealand, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. He has worked across many industry sectors with the common theme of focusing on the customer to grow the business.
Graduating from Lincoln College armed with a B.Ag.Sci degree, Gavin commenced his career with the NZ Dairy Board as a LIC Consulting Officer. He then went on to work in the Saudi Arabian Dairy industry before stepping out of the Agribusiness sector and into IT Services and the Business Process Management sectors. He is delighted to be back in the agribusiness sector, joining the DTS team in January 2019.
On a personal note Gavin is happily married with two wonderful teenage children. He is unashamedly a sports addict, however now much too old and slow to play rugby anymore. Most of his leisure time nowadays is spent either on the water fishing or underneath it diving and wherever possible trying to escape into the mountains with a pack on his back.
Commercial Manager - Deane Bellis
A chartered accountant with a Bachelor of Management Studies degree, Deane is a highly experienced and qualified finance professional with excellent experience across project and business budgeting, forecasting, strategic financial planning, commercial development and analysis.
A keen family man, DIY projects and spending time with his children and their dogs take up a lot of Deane's spare time these days. After that it's coaching and playing hockey and following the cricket.
Engineering and Production Manager
Mike has a strong background in operations and supply chain management with 25 years’ experience in these fields. Prior to joining DTS Mike has held senior roles across the dairy, steel manufacturing and engineering sectors.
Most recently Mike has been the General Manager of Carac Group, an engineering company in Taranaki where he has enjoyed successfully launching a range of products into North America.
Born and raised in Taranaki, Mike enjoys making the most of the outdoors that Taranaki has to offer spending his spare time hiking or kayaking.
On Farm Services Manager - Luke Walker
Luke leads the DTS Operations team and has more than 15 years’ experience in the agricultural industry specialising in farm water system design, refrigeration systems, milking machines, and dairy farming systems in general.
For the last seven years, Luke has been in senior management roles looking after on farm refrigeration.
Based in our Hamilton support office, Luke’s spare time is well-spent with his family fishing, hunting, and enjoying rugby.
